Colorimetric Tubes and Pumps

 

Colorimetric Gas Detection Tubes allow quick Measurement of Many Gases and Vapors

RAE Systems' large selection of Colorimetric Gas Detection Tubes offer quick, on-the-spot measurements of many gases and vapors at low cost. RAE tubes are easy to read, providing sharp, clear color changes, high accuracy and no need for calibration. Each box contains 10 tubes for 10 seperate tests. Hand pumps can be ordered by themselves, or in a kit with spare parts and a carrying case. 

How would you use RAE Systems Gas Detection Tubes?
 
First, using the tip breaker built into the hand pump, break off both ends of the tube. The tube is then inserted into the rubber inlet on the pump with the arrow on the tube pointing towards the pump. To begin sampling, align the red dots on the pump body and plunger, then firmly pull back the handle until it latches at either 1/2 or full stroke, depending upon desired sample volume. When the end of flow indicator on the plunger returns to full brightness the sample is complete; additional strokes can be performed depending upon the required sample volume. Measurements are indicated directly from the clearly printed scale on the tube. Adjustment factors for sample volume, temperature, and humidity can be applied to this measurement using the values indicated in the datasheets that come with the tubes.
 
RAE Systems' Colorimetric Gas Detection Tubes are economical and well suited for any application where on the spot gas measurements are required and there is no need for continuous sampling.
 
Smoke Generation Tubes

For use in respirator fit testing, Smoke Generation Tubes meet the requirements for OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 (appendix A) andOSHA 1910.139. Simply break off  both tips with a tip breaker, then insert the Smoke Generation Tube into the aspirator. Squeezing the aspirator produces smoke via a chemical reaction. RAE Systems’ smoke generation tubes can be reused until spent by closing off the ends of the tubes with the included rubber caps between uses.
